I nodded knowingly. Egypt is a drone control country and faces jail time if found. The salt lake, El Marun, is actually a depression surrounded by limestone cliffs in the heart of the Bahariya oasis. There are no natural lakes here, and the oasis's main source of water comes from the extraction of underground cold and hot springs. Wastewater from daily agricultural irrigation eventually flows into this depression, forming a small saline lake. The salt lake, which seemed almost dry in previous years, ushered in a dramatic change this year. Farmers who have installed solar power plants have cheap energy, and they can pump more groundwater to irrigate their crops. The increase in the area of lake water is one of the changes brought by solar power generation to the local area. While Salt Lake is a quiet, beautiful landscape, keep in mind that the lake's water, which comes from agricultural wastewater, is not clean. Winter is the best season to visit Salt Lake. Indeed, whether the Mediterranean world is at peace or at war, Baharia was a fertile ground of eternal peace for the ancient Egyptians who lived here, the Greek farmers who cultivated the land, or the Roman legions stationed here.
