RUMINATIONS: I give more credit to Bob Kane in this video than I really should, since Bill Finger really deserves a hell of a lot more credit for the creation of a lot of Batman and his mythos – it’s just Kane was a good businessman and knew how to capitalize on it. The thing is that the first time I ever heard the name “Bob Kane” was back when I first started reading comics in a one page memorial to him in an old Titans issue, talking about him creating Batman and the inspiration for him and the like. In the end, it probably doesn’t matter who really created him – the legacy of the caped crusader is bigger than any single man. The legacy of any these characters is bigger than any of the creators who worked on them. There will be good writers and bad writers on them, people who expand on it and people who crap all over it… but they will endure, no matter what any of us have to say about it. Also: purple gloves? What the hell?
