I WON THE GOLDEN SPURTLE at The World Porridge Making Championship 2024!!

I entered the World Porridge Making Championship for the third time and was lucky enough to win the coveted Golden Spurtle for the best traditional porridge. The World Porridge Making Championship is an annual event held in Carrbridge, in the Highlands of Scotland, which has been running for 31 years. There are two competitions held at the same time, Traditional & Speciality. The traditional competition allows only oats, water & salt and the speciality is a freeform oat-based dish. Both must be cooked in 30 minutes on a gas camping stove. There are 5 heats, featuring 30 competitors from 14 countries and then a grand final featuring the top 6 porridge makers in the world. I made traditional porridge and a Lemon & Ginger Oat Posset.
