interested in a new japanese soba recipe? youre in the right place. as you finish watching this video, perhaps easy soba noodles is what may come to mind. and even better, perhaps once you get a taste of these soba noodles, life may never be the same - in a good way of course! 😛 🆕 homemade japanese soba noodle workshop - discover the magic of homemade soba noodles and enjoy them the japanese way 🗾 https://www.alldayieat.com/go/soba-wo... in the summer, soba is a classic way to cool down while enjoying a delicious japanese meal. if you get a chance to travel to japan, its one of the things you can not miss. soba specialty restaurants make noodles from scratch and the mentsuyu (noodle soup base) as well. if you find a popular place you may even need to wait in line, just to get in. some places just dont take reservations unfortunately, and if you know the japanese they always like to line up and will patiently wait for anything thats fashionable or tasty and worth waiting for. a bit different from america yea? anyways, back to soba noodles. if you can, make them from scratch. it's easier than you may think, especially if you've made pasta before, plus you can even use your standmixer. alternatively, if you arent into fresh made soba or pasta, consider buying 100% buckwheat noodles (juwari), available on amazon linked in my shop below. the flavor and texture is a little better than most generic (cheap soba) found in japanese grocery stores. (you usually get what you pay for right?) 🤔 which is slimier tororo or okra? lmk in the comments~ ! 📘NOTES experiment with a variety of toppings to finish the soba noodles my favorites lean toward the sour - for example salt or shiso marinated umeboshi (pickled plum) and mozuku which is a type of edible seaweed in the genus Cladosiphon, found in Okinawa, Japan aromatics like green onions, green shiso lend themselves well with the flavors of the dish. dont like natto (fermented soy beans), try using tofu, edamame, peas or sugar snap peas instead consider topping the soba noodles with a bit of ichimi or shichimi red pepper for a spicier kick, and or freshly toasted nori (dried seaweed) for additional flavor. of course, last but not least try making your mentsuyu (noodle soup base from scratch). yes you can easily use your all purpose store bought bottles of mentsuyu when you dont have time, but if you have 10-15 minutes to spare, you can make a fast kaeshi (noodle soup base concentrate) with which to enjoy for many japanese meals to come, especially japanese meals that call for soup base - mentsuyu. ⭐LINKS Did you know? Most store bought soba (“buckwheat noodles”) is made with wheat flour. While it’s convenient to use, it often pales in comparison to soba noodles made with 80% buckwheat or more. When noodles consist mostly of wheat, they lack flavor and texture. Lastly, the health benefits that come with eating buckwheat are different and better in some areas as compared to wheat based noodles. Could you be missing out? If you’re lucky, you may be able to find dried 100% buckwheat noodles from Japan at your local Japanese market, but in most cases may be difficult to find. Your next best bet? You could fly to Japan and eat them there or… make them yourself after you discover how simple it is in this soba workshop! 👉 Discover the magic of homemade soba noodles and enjoy them the japanese way 🗾 https://www.alldayieat.com/go/soba-wo... 👉 japanese ingredients and cooking supplies https://www.amazon.com/shop/alldayieat 📗:::RECIPE::: coming soon ✅ Plant based Japanese food made simple.
