Since 2015, Fredonia’s North Pole Strip Club (NPSC) has not only been a staple in the WNY music scene, but also a popular stop on the national DIY tour circuit. While a normal Saturday night would bring an energized crowd of college students to the small blue house on campus outskirts, nowadays, it's nothing more than a living space awaiting the return of live music. However, melody will soon return to its doors The Burkharts (Buffalo, NY) have a sound that calls back to a Californian 60s sense of wonder and innocence while sporting an indie jangle. The sweet, pure undertones heard on their records, and seen with their choir-boy outfits, are contrasted by their wild, goofy antics on stage. Balancing acts, stunts, and Spaghetti mayhem, while singing wholesome love songs are staples of a Burkharts show. The Beach Boys, soda pops, and Wes Anderson have all been used to describe these four lads, but it's best to just check them out for yourself.
