Abandoned Military Truck and Cabin Deep in the Canadian Woods | Destination Adventure
1944 Canadian right hand drive Chevrolet military truck, found in the remote forest of British Columbia. The first time I saw this truck was about ten years ago, and at that time I believe it had been sitting in that exact location for decades already. It is remarkable how little rust and how little change there has been, but I suppose things were just built that tough for the military. The truck looks small now, but it has actually sunk a fair bit into the ground, and of course the tires are all gone now. The engine is still in the truck, minus the head, and the rest of the drivetrain is complete. All in all, it is a very neat piece of history sitting out there, and a vehicle that is far from a common discovery. There has been a lot of logging in this area over the years, so I am guessing that provided the road infrastructure to get a truck into this location, though today there is barely a hint of a trail. I believe the cabin is an old trappers cabin, but that has also sat vacant and abandoned now for decades. Horsefly lake is a beautiful place to spend a little time and do some exploring, and I was delighted to meet some great local fans while in the area.
