Speaker: Assoc Prof David Chong Talk Title: Global Cleft Care: A Personal Journey Assoc Prof David Chong is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon committed to the care of those affected by facial deformities. He graduated from The University of Western Australia in 1995. He is the current President of the Australasian Cleft Lip and Palate Society, and volunteers three months a year with Operation Smile and Mercy Ships. He has recently taken on a paid role with Operation Smile overseeing their commitment to global health education and outcomes and is Chairperson of the Cleft Surgery Training Programme. David’s passion is correcting facial and skull deformities in children and is particularly known for his work in cleft lip and palate. He holds a clinical appointment at Royal Children’s Hospital and has authored numerous article and book chapters on cleft lip/palate , craniofacial and salivary control surgery. This seminar is within the theme "Evolving Perspectives in Improving Cleft Lip and Palate Care" as part of the BRCCH 2023 seminar series.
