The process of the preparation of crushed stone to be used in the construction industry starts with the blasting of huge rocks on mountains. In order to avoid potential losses of human lives and nearby buildings, the rock blasting task requires specific standard operating procedures (SOPs) and extreme care. It is, therefore, carried out by experienced mountaineers and workers. The process starts with making holes with the help of big, air-powered, giant drill machines. The high-pressure air comes from powerful compressors and drives the drill machine. After the hole of the required size and length has been made, it is filled with the blasting material. After proper filling, the blast is done through the electric spark with the help of a battery and long copper wires. One side of the wires is put into the hole, and the other side is connected with the battery. When electric current is provided, the blasting takes place. Another method that is mostly used in our stone industry is to use the fire strings. One side of the string is put into the hole, and the other side is ignited. The length of the string should be at least three feet. It allows workers to run away and stay in a safe place. Workers involved in this process get shelter in a safe place until the whole blasting process gets completed. This method is, however, riskier and less safe as compared to the electric current method, under which the workers are already in a safe place. After blasting, the blasted pieces of rock are loaded into trolleys or dumpers and transported to the crushing plant. Loading is done by big-size loading machines like Komatsu, Caterpillar, JCB, etc. As you can see in this video, a Caterpillar 966F model wheel loader is loading rocks into trolleys and dumpers. Different stone firms use different machines for this purpose. After the rocks have been unloaded on a specific area of the crushing plant, they are further broken into small pieces with the help of a powerful hydraulic-driven hammer. The small rocks are then moved into the big jaw crushing machine, where the actual process of making crushed stone starts. If you want to see the further process, visit and explore our channel. We have created multiple videos about the actual stone-crushing process. #RockBlasting #MountainBlasting #ConstructionProcess #HeavyMachinery #EngineeringMarvel #RockLoading #TrolleyLoading #DumperLoading #ConstructionSite #Excavation #MiningOperations #ConstructionVibes #BuildingInfrastructure #ConstructionLife #EngineeringExcellence
