Hello Im Skill Incarnate and Welcome to My Games Review Series. My reviews cover indie games that i have bought, had gifted to me and have been provided by developers for review. In this episode I check out a new Dark Fantasy Strategy Game called Death Howl. This game developed by The Outer Zone, and is published by 11 Bit Studios, the Powerhouse Publisher behind some of the best indie games including This War Of Mine, Children Of Morta and the legendary Frostpunk Series. Death Howl is a turn based strategy game, with inspiration from the Dark Souls Games. The story follows a Shaman, who after witnessing the tragic death of her son, places everything on the line in a desparate journey into the realm of spirits in an attempt to rescue him. Youll need to navigate through a surreal world, seeking the favour of benevolent spirits, harnessing your shamanic powers through crafting powerful cards to aid you in repelling the hostile entities seeking to devour you and your son The games greatest strengths are in its fantasy horror atmosphere, the unique art style and minimalist colour palette, and the turn based grid battle system requiring players to carefully use the terrain, exploit enemy behavior and master their ever evolving deck of cards to win against overwhelming odds. The demo showcases the first area of the game and will take even veteran players some time to complete, I recommend you check it out for yourselves and I greatly look forward to covering the full game in a future video Please note: All opinions in this video are my own.
