Often, pain from weightlifting hernias is felt most on the left or right sides of the groin. Abdominal fascia tearing is common when increasing abdominal cavity pressure during exercises such as deadlifts and squats, or after experiencing a strenuous twist or extension during a core and back workout. There are 2 ways to prevent hernias when weightlifting. 1. Keep our abdominal muscles strong. 2. Keep our abdominal muscles flexible.
