Speaker Information: Dr. Viswanathan Chinnusamy is a Principal Scientist & Head, Division of Plant Physiology, at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. He obtained his Ph.D. from Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. He carried out his postdoctoral research at University of Arizona, Tucson, and University of California Riverside, with Prof. Jian-Kang Zhu. He also received training on Protoplast Transient Expression Analysis from Prof. Jen Sheen at Harvard University, Boston, USA. He has 24 years of research and teaching experience in plant physiology and has published about 150 peer reviewed publications with total citations over 14000. He has contributed to the discovery and elucidation of ABA signalling pathway, cold stress signalling pathway and microRNA biogenesis pathway in plants. His current research interest includes phenomics, genetic engineering and genome editing for abiotic stress tolerance in crops.
