Kalamazoo community gathers for block party to celebrate new downtown event center

Hundreds gathered in downtown Kalamazoo Friday to celebrate the city's new event center, which is expected to open in Fall 2027. From 5-7 p.m., Water Street from Rose Street to near Koopsen's Alley has transformed into a party space, offering live music, pep performances, food trucks, interactive fan activities, arena renderings and more.
