PATREON / shootfilmlikeaboss About This Video Wow. I was so lucky in receiving TWO rolls of the NEW FUJI ACROS II from one of SFLAB's Subscribers and Instagrammer ARTSTUDIONAGOYA all the way from JAPAN!. I have already a stack of the Original Acros sent to me from LA by MrCaseyface and when I received the new version I couldn't wait to put it side by side for my own curiosity. I did ask you guys on my community tab, Instagram and private messages what to shoot and many said a Portrait! So here it is! My mate Walter agreed to pop in and sit in the chair. I wanted to keep this simple so I used a basic one light subject set up and a white background which was also lit. I like one light set ups allowing the light to wrap around the face. I chose to keep it simple without any extras lighting or bouncing any light back. I used a Chinon CE5 camera and shot FOUR frames of the original acros. I went into the darkroom, cut the film from the camera and stored it into a film container. I returned moments later to shoot another FOUR frames on the New Acros II under the same lighting conditions. I put both strips onto the same reel and used Kodak D76 at Stock for, although it says 7.25 minutes on the data sheet, I developed for 8 minutes! You will see in the video my conclusions. This was more a curiosity test than a VS test. I found the new Acros to handle the highlights slightly better but as for sharpness and grain I could not tell the deference. Overall this was my first time shooting the new improved Acros and I'm looking forward to now shooting the rest of the two rolls I have on other subjects without comparing. Just shoot and enjoy!
