This is the kind of meal that takes you back to Sunday dinners at grandma’s house, where the table was full, the portions were generous, and every bite tasted like love. These turkey wings are seasoned to perfection, baked until fall-off-the-bone tender, and smothered in a savory homemade gravy that soaks right into the meat. It’s simple, hearty, and the kind of soul food comfort meal that brings everyone back to the table for seconds. Serve these with rice, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, or buttery cornbread, and you’ve got a true Southern classic that warms the heart and feeds the soul. One bite and you’ll understand why this recipe has been passed down through generations. Recipe: Ingredients 3–5 lbs turkey wings 1–2 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil (binder) 1 tsp onion powder 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp Slap Ya Mama Cajun seasoning ½ tsp ground sage ½ tsp black pepper 1 tsp chicken bouillon powder 1 tsp paprika ½ tsp Italian seasoning ½ tsp complete seasoning For the gravy 2–3 tbsp all-purpose flour Water or chicken broth Vegetables 1 onion, sliced 1 red bell pepper, sliced 1 green bell pepper, sliced 2 celery stalks, chopped 2 tsp minced garlic Instructions 1. Prep & Season Preheat oven to 365–375°F (depending on your oven). In a small bowl, mix all the seasonings together. Pat turkey wings dry, drizzle with olive oil or avocado oil, and rub to coat (this helps the seasoning stick). Season the wings generously on all sides. 2. Build the Pan Lightly oil a baking pan. Add the onion, bell peppers, celery, and minced garlic to the bottom of the pan. Place the seasoned turkey wings on top of the vegetables. Pour about 1–2 cups of water or chicken broth into the bottom of the pan. 3. First Bake Cover the pan tightly with foil and bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour. 4. Remove & Separate Take the pan out of the oven and uncover it. Remove the turkey wings and set them aside on a plate or baking sheet. Scoop the vegetables and liquid from the pan into a separate bowl. 5. Brown the Turkey Place the turkey wings back into the baking pan and baste them with some of the pan juices. Bake at 400°F or broil until the wings are golden brown, tender, and falling off the bone. 6. Make the Gravy While the turkey browns, heat a saucepan over medium heat and make a roux by cooking 2–3 tbsp flour with a little oil or butter until lightly browned. Add the cooked vegetables and some chicken broth or pan liquid, then heat through. Use an immersion blender to blend until smooth and thick. Adjust the seasoning using the same blend as for the turkey. 7.
