Houston harvests some of our potatoes, January 2026 in Lower Hutt, NZ

Please excuse my colourful language as I begin to see the potatoes emerging... We planted three potatoes in this bucket on 12th September 2025, and decided to harvest them today, 18th January 2026. The yield was 666g. We're a little disappointed with that, but we're growing them this season to eat straight away, so it's not too bad really. And it didn't cost us anything as we planted potatoes that we'd bought to eat, which had started to sprout. The only cost was the vegetable mix, probably about $5 worth at a guess. And they taste just lovely. Yum yum yum, guess what's for tea...
