If you like regular arrest content, be sure to check out our other channel @ArrestCam In the state of Missouri, mountain lions are extremely rare. The state has had 128 mountain lion sightings since 1994. Most of the mountain lions are transient, often wandering through from other states. Approximately one year ago, a sheriff’s office received a call in reference to a man shooting a montain lion, claiming he was defending his wife. An officer with the Missouri Department of Conservation responded to investigate. Prior to the officer’s arrival, these images were posted on social media. Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the mountain lion was tagged in 2023, when the mountain lion was only four weeks old. The cat ultimately died almost 800 miles away from where it was originally tagged. In the end, Joseph was charged with taking or possessing a protected species of wildlife. He pled guilty to the charge and was ordered to pay a $2,000 fine. Points were assessed against his hunting license and he was suspended from hunting for one year. His hunting rifle was returned to him. If you like this video and want to see more like it, Subscribe to Arrest Cam.
