Some people are going through tough times because of the pandemic - others are having a rough time in their personal lives. We, as Mzansi Youth Choir really wanted everyone to know that there is always hope at the end of the tunnel – no matter what, you can make it through; dedicating our “Fight Song” to those who have lost hope. Moved by Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song”, we decided to make our own cover of it, adding a bit of Mzansi flair to the world-famous inspirational anthem. The singer famously wrote this song when she was at a particular low point in her live: “I wrote the song when I was going through such a hard time and I needed to remember to believe in myself…”Not only did she start her famous singing career in an acapella choir, but music inspires her, giving her courage when she feels like she can’t keep going – something all of us relates to. "I didn't intend to write ['Fight Song'], you know, for the world to hear to be honest. I wrote it 'cause I needed it. And I wrote it 'cause I needed that reminder and I needed hope.” said Platten. "We hope that us sharing this song will inspire those who are struggling, who are going through tough times, to strike their “one match” and show the world they still have fight left within them.
