Hello! Today, I made 'Yakgwa', which is crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. 'Yakgwa' is a traditional Korean cookie that is eaten mainly on holidays like Chuseok, which is Korean Thanksgiving Day. Cookies made with flour, sesame oil, and honey! In the past, they were really valuable ingredients, so they were high-quality sweets. The recipe I made is a little different from the traditional recipe. There is no sesame oil. The traditional recipe is a little different from the'Yakgwa' that I've been eating, so I modified the recipe. If you are curious about the taste, I recommend making it. Once you taste it, you might eat it all on the spot :) Then enjoy video🧡 ▶︎ Ingredients for Syruping (Jibcheong) 350g Rice syrup 70g Honey 120ml Water 1 Ginger 1 tablespoon Citron syrup (optional) for 'Yakgwa' dough 250g All-purpose flour 1 teaspoon Cinnamon powder 100g Sugar 50ml Water 25ml Syrup to soak to 'Yakgwa' 50ml Cooking oil ▶︎ Recipe Tips to increase your success rate! -Do not mix too much when kneading -Yakgwa must be fried at a low oil temperature to keep its shape from bursting. 1. Put rice syrup, honey, water, ginger and citron syrup in a pot and boil over medium heat. 2. When it boils, reduce to low heat and boil for another 5-10 minutes, then cool. 3. Put sugar and water in a bowl and mix with a whisk until the sugar is dissolved as much as possible. 4. Add syruping (jibcheong) and cooking oil to sugar water and mix with a whisk. 5. Add all-purpose flour and cinnamon powder and knead lightly with a spatula. 6. Peel off the finished dough and put it in a Yakgwa mold to shape it. 7. Preheat the oil to 130 degrees, add the dough and fry while turning over. 8. When Yakgwa changes color to light brown, take it out and drain the oil. 9. Soak yakgwa in syruping (jibcheong) for 10 minutes. 10. Take out the Yakgwa soaked in syruping (jibcheong) and it's done.
