Longtermism is the view that influencing the long-term future should be one of our key priorities. Longtermism should not be understood as a view that is just focused on the future of humanity, as other sentient beings will exist in the future too. Considering the future of animals is especially important as emerging technologies could impact them in unprecedented ways.
