In this soap video, I will make what is often referred to as Traditional Lye Soap. It is made with just 100% lard, lye and water and is the old fashioned soap that was used for generations in most homes and is perfect for homesteading, plus it's zero waste. Lard soap can take a while to thicken and come to trace so it is a good idea to use a water discount to help speed the process up a little. I am using a 28% water ratio in this recipe but you can use even less.
