He got detain£d in the CID facility in Alagbon, Lagos on a phantom charge of being in possession of bann£d dr#gs. However, his son, Orimipe alleges that the dirge he sang in honour of sla!n journalist, Dele Giwa actually triggered the government, which led to his incarceration. . In 1988, after one year in detent!on, Dr. Orlando Owoh was finally released. Speaking exclusively to Prime People Magazine on May 1988, few days after he was freed from of a coca!ne trafficking charge by the miscellaneous offences tribunal, he said: . “My brother, that place is different oh, it was as if I was not living in this country.
