Denver’s converted hotel homeless shelters are a magnet for 911 calls, but one in particular has nearly four times more than every other. And now, the city is changing who’s in charge of security there, going back to a plan that didn’t work the first time they tried it. The Aspen hotel shelter, formerly the DoubleTree located at 4040 Quebec Street, has recorded 431 911 calls so far this year — nearly three to four times more than every other hotel shelter — making it by far the most problematic of Denver's converted hotel shelter locations when it comes to crime and calls to police.
