If you're living with a serious medical condition, medical Cannabis may be able to help provide additional relief in conjunction with traditional treatment. To talk about whether medical marijuana could be right for your condition, call Dr. Tishler at (617) 477-8886. www.InhaleMD.com "Hi folks, thanks for tuning in. Today I want to talk about the side effects and toxicity of cannabis. Really, what this comes down to in terms of toxicity is that there isn't any known toxicity. Studies have been done time and time again, whether we’re talking about in mice or observational studies in human beings, and no ill effect has been shown from the use of cannabis. In fact, there’s been no ill effect on the lungs from smoking cannabis. Well you’d think gee, tobacco is obviously not very good for your lungs, so smoking marijuana is probably not very good either, and I think that’s probably not an unreasonable extrapolation. However, there have actually been some studies which have not shown that to be the case. My recommendation is to vaporize and inhale, because that avoids the issue entirely. But again, for what is this, the third time? It hasn’t been borne out as a lung problem. Now lets talk about some side effects. Probably many of you are aware of side effects such as dry mouth and sometimes dry eyes, and then there are the munchies; the dreaded munchies. But actually, what’s funny is that it turns out when people study cannabis users, people who use cannabis tend to have lower weight, lower body mass index, than the matched controls whose BMI’s were higher. So, the munchies turn out to help you when your ill to get your health back, but not so much as to drive you into being obese."
