Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the best towing mirror options for your 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Whenever you're towing a trailer, if you're using your factory mirror, we can see our trailer, but whenever we go to change lanes or want to look behind us, we may have to stick our head out of window or really turn around to see what's going on, making it unsafe to go down the road.Well our towing mirrors are going to give us a wider field of view, making it a lot safer and a lot easier to get down the road. There's three basic types of towing mirrors and they're each going to have their own individual benefits. So let's take a closer look.We're going to have a universal-style towing mirror, a custom fit towing mirror, and a full replacement-style towing mirror. First we have our universal-style mirror, which is going to be great for occasional use. Most of them are simply just going to strap onto our existing mirror using some rubber straps. Now there are some other styles that use a clamp that we can clamp onto our mirror, but it is a universal style, which means that if you tow with a lot of different vehicles in your family, chances are it might fit that as well. Now while this is going to serve the purpose, we're going to be able to have a wider field of view, see what's going on behind our truck, it isn't exactly going to match our truck. It is just going to be strapped onto our mirror, so aesthetically it's not going to look the best. But it is going to get the job done. The other downside is that we're going to have to carry it with us, put it on, and take it off each time that we tow.The next step up is going to be our custom fit towing mirror. Now this is going to be great for occasional to moderate use because it is going to have a lot more of a snug fit and fit more skill around our factory mirror because it is made specifically for our truck. On the back you can see that it is going to have a nice seamless look to it, so it's going to blend in with our factory mirror nicely and have more of a pleasing look and not be so obvious that we have an extra piece on our truck.Now again, the downside to it is that it is going to be an extra piece, so we're either going to have to have it in our truck or leave it on our truck every time we go to tow. Now like the universal mirror, our custom fit one also is going to have manual adjustments. We're either going to have to reach out the window and make the adjustments before we go, or on the passenger side adjust the mirror and then check it when we get into the driver's seat.Now most of our custom fit towing mirrors are just going to snap into place. However, some of them may require a set screw. But they are extremely easy to install or take off.Finally, we have our full replacement mirror. Now this is going to be more of a top of the line upgrade, whether you tow all the time or you just don't really feel like having to deal with an extra piece every time you go to tow.We have the options on our replacement mirrors to retain all your factory functions like your power mirrors, heated mirrors, even the LED turn signal. Just keep in mind that it's not going to add these features to your truck, it's just going to retain those functions if you already have them.Now our replacement mirrors are going to extend out, giving us that wider field of view, as well as giving use a dual mirror so we'll have a taller field so we'll be able to see our trailer behind our truck. Our replacement mirrors are going to use all the factory mounting points so we're not going to have to worry about modifying our truck or anything. It's just going to mount up in the existing location that our mirror already does.To sum everything up, if you only tow a few times a year and you really don't feel like investing a lot of money into it, our universal mirrors are going to be a great option because they're just going to slip right over our factory mirror, strap on, and chances are they may fit more than one vehicle. Now if you tow a little bit more frequently and you want more of a streamlined look, our custom fit towing mirrors are going to be a great option. They're going to slip over the factory mirror,
