First tests on board the new Bali Catspace MY powercat with Boris Compagnon, Sales and Marketing Director of Catana Group. Full test to be discovered in Multihulls World soon. This new model is pretty close in size to her bigger sister, the 4.3 MY. But look a little deeper and you’ll see this powercat has less volume – 758 sq ft (70.4 m²) of usable space as opposed to 894 sq ft (83.1 m²) for the 4.3 – and is noticeably cheaper. The platform is based on the sailing version but with completely redesigned hulls, and then topped with an imposing - but nevertheless harmonious - flybridge, accessible from both sides. The philosophy of this Catspace MY is to further optimize the Bali concept - open volumes, ease of use, comfort - by exploiting 100% of the available deck space. The choice of engines ranges from 2 x 150 to 2 x 250 HP. With whichever option, priority is given to range with up to 370 US gal (1,400 liters) of fuel and 185 US gal (700 liters) of water. The Catspace MY prototype was splashed at the beginning of the year, but the builder is set on refining the interior finish and the efficiency of the drivetrain before having an official launch.
