With the likelihood of a play-off place extremely remote for this season the Blues may use the final fixtures to prepare for next season. The next five league matches against Derby County, Blackburn Rovers, Ipswich Town, Wrexham and Hull City provide interesting opposition, all of which still have something to play for this season.
