I was, quite clearly, very excited to visit my amazing, gorgeous, beautiful, miraculous gift of a piano, an 1894 Steinway upright that was generously given to me, at my friends' place (my eternal gratitude, friends!!!) where it's been living till I have it restored. So, ya... as-yet unrestored, it already sounds this awesome! Except... kindly excuse the clipping audio! We did a mic check, but with the case assembled and the lid closed. Being the sort of non-gear-head acoustic daydreamer I am, I didn't even think to adjust the microphone sensitivity once I had opened up the case and was passionately percussing at fortississimo... Oops. If there are any budding recording engineer types out there looking to gain some experience recording acoustic pianos, please... be in touch, and feel free to follow me around!! LOL! When I succeed in ignoring the bad audio peaks, I nevertheless find lots of fun, intriguing, juicy material to listen to here! That's my favourite part about practicing improvising WAY more in the past couple years, and recording as much of it as possible: I always have NEW music to listen to! Oh, we had such fun that lovely Sunday. :) Please enjoy the results of our intense and intimate encounter in the bleak midwinter... all improvised, by the way! love, Bryce
