After doing Daft Punk and an orchestral track, it was time for some hard rock! I picked the most-hated hard rock band on the planet because, well, why not?! People might hate on Nickelback and I sure don't have any love for the radio friendly power ballads, but they know how to write a hard rock song though, and they damned well know how to play live. This is them covering Elton John's classic "Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)". Their version originally appeared on the soundtrack for the film Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. It had a Kid Rock "contribution", which I'm happy to say isn't present on the version they released on the special edition of "The Long Road." That's the one I chose. The drums on the original track are super quiet in the mix and very flat. The track was done in the period between Ryan Vikedal's departure and Daniel Adair joining the band. I think they might be programmed. FYI: I had to sub in two seconds of footage from my warm up take as a bug (or something) blocked part of the camera for a few seconds from 2:51-2:53.   / cdj-uobb_nj   I didn't pick up on it until I got to video editing. I tried to make the transition seamless. It's still a little jerky, but better than a black/brown blob showing up. For the best listening experience, please use headphones or quality monitors.
