Jamrushi Nagar a slum located in Mumbai Suburban Malad. This slum is home for more than 10,000 slum dwellers. The Marathi dominated hamlet is less than 10 minutes away from the western express highway and and 14 minutes away from the SGNP. A look at the surroundings of the slum and one can spot many already developed high storey apartments with amenities like swimming pools and Gyms. Many other are still being developed. on the other hand, just few kilometers away reality strikes the resident of Jamrushi nagar. The roads leading up to the slum indicate that one is now entering the slum symbolic to the situation faced by many of its residents. Apart from bad roads, the resident struggle to get basic necessities like water, electricity.
