Soccer cone drills for beginners. These soccer cone drills for youth involves the big three foot skills, the Jab step (which is also known as the body feint or shoulder fake), the shot fake, and the La Croqueta (which is also known as the self pass or the "L") When doing the body feint, the key is to turn your foot, hips and shoulders to make it more believable. To make it easier on yourself, start with the ball outside of your left shoulder. Remember that this is a skill to use when the defender is backpedaling, so make sure to explosively push the ball to the next set of cones. When you get to the three cones for the shot fake, make sure that you looked up, and got your arms and leg up so your shot fake looks like a shot. I recommend either doing the step on step out shot fake, chop shot fake, or cut shot fake at the cones. At the self pass, make sure your self pass is parallel and completely horizontal to the defender. Having a diagonal self pass makes it way easier for the defender to get the ball. And since them reaching in for the ball is the reason you use this in a game, you have to make sure you get it past them.
