How Good Is The Vanquish 440? One Hour Of Pure Metal Detecting!

Join me on an amazing one hour relic hunt at a difficult location with Minelabs multifrequency detector. I read a few opinions about the Vanquish and also watched some air tests on the internet. Because of it I hesitated to take it to one of my locations with (partially lots of) iron. OK, parts of this spot were clean, but other patches contained old nails etc. I hunted sections of this slope with all my Deus coils, different frequencies, settings and also some of my other metal detectors. I wasn't really expecting to find much, especially in the "entry zone", but I was proven wrong petty quickly with my first find, a small 1930 coin. This was a huge surprise. I was afraid to be fooled by iron, but this didn't happen (often). Maybe I was lucky to hit some targets from the right angle. When this occurred, the Vanquish was able to lock on to finds nice and stable. One thing I've learned hunting river banks a few years ago was to go after a good signal instantly, instead of circling around in order to find an excuse for not digging it. This "rule" is still difficult to follow, but I'm trying. So, how good is the Vanquish? Usually I never make conclusions based on the amount, or quality of finds. Just because a detector finds a target on a given day doesn't mean that no other machine could find it as well. But, if we take all the previous activities at this place into account (plus other detectorists and their detectors), one can at least praise the Vanquish' 440 performance on that day in this soil and weather conditions. There is one more thing - the EMI. Yes it was present, but unlike my other detectors, I could decrease the sensitivity and sometimes completely eliminate all the annoying noises (without sacrificing much depth). Let's not forget the stability and the pleasant audio. Metal detecting is about fun. Of course it's easier to say after finding nice relics, instead of trash or nothing at all, but it really was a joy to use (from the metal detecting perspective). Am I happy with the machine? Absolutely! Will I use it again? I hope so! P.s.
