CMM-Manager 2026 includes an updated Renishaw UCC driver capable of executing inspection programs 20-40% faster than the previous generation UCC Driver. 0:00 UCC Direct 2.0 vs. 3.0 0:10 Start Side by Side Comparison 1:17 UCC Direct 3.0 Tip Angle Change 1:41 UCC Direct 2.0 Tip Angle Change 2:05 UCC Direct 3.0 Program Complete 2:38 UCC Direct 2.0 Program Complete Shown in the video is a short inspection program run on the same CMM with same speed settings. Using the legacy UCC Direct 2.0 driver, the inspection completes in 2:29 (mm:ss) while the new UCC 3.0 Driver runs this program in 1:53 (mm:ss) The speed improvement comes from adding “Fly Radius” where the machine straight lines moves are blended at the end points with small radii, allowing continual motion. The program runs faster because the machine never comes to a complete stop unless a move in the opposite direction is executed. Another factor is the newly added Block Execution Mode. This capability has already existed in the CMM-Manager I++ driver since PH20 support was added in 2011. Block Execution Mode eliminates communication overhead between the software and controller and is now included in the UCC Direct 3.0 driver. This allows both 5-axis systems such as Revo and PH20 (using the I++ driver) as well as PH10 / TP20 users to harness the improved throughput of a CMM driver with Block Execution Mode. Inspection programs with many tip angle changes and relatively few points per feature will expect throughput improvement up to 20%, where programs having features or Cloud measurements with many points can expect up to 40% throughput improvement. Programs from older version(s) of CMM-Manager can be used immediately with this new CMM-Manager Driver, thus zero effort for the CMM programmer is required to gain these huge throughput improvements.
