Facebook: / oneearthmushrooms Instagram: / oneearthmushrooms It's not that I was doubting myself, but I'm pretty relieved and excited to finally have some fruiting bodies on the lion's mane project! And...they're the coolest looking mushroom I've ever seen. Seriously, what a magnificent fungi, I can't believe that this thing is growing in my own house. In this video I show you how I put my lion's mane fruiting block into fruiting conditions. I waited until pins appeared and the block was mostly colonized (it started fruiting on it's own before the block was consolidated!), then expelled all CO2 and air from the top of the bag, folded the loose top over and taped it to the block. I'm fruiting this in a monotub, so I added a layer of pearlite to the bottom of the fruiting chamber, mixed in some water for better humidity control, and placed the block on top of the pearlite. I'm trying for multiple fruiting bodies, so I cut four x-shaped holes in the top surface of the grow bag, put the lid on the chamber and waited. By the next morning, there were fruits escaping the bag and by day 4 they were getting huge!
