Degrees of Adjective Degrees of Adjective are used to make comparison of quality between nouns. Adjective has three degrees. Positive: no comparison Comparative: Compares two things Superlative: Compares one noun with more than one Example The flying train will carry more people than a jet, but fewer (people) than a ship. It will use the least fuel of any fast transport. 1) fast transport = no comparison 2) more people, fewer (people) = comparison between train and jet / ship’s capacity (comparison between two.) 3) the least fuel = comparison of train with any other fast transports.
