Delhi’s Yamuna Riverfront Redevelopment - A Beautiful New Chapter in the City’s Story! Instagram : / newway.journey oday, we’re walking along one of Delhi’s most ambitious and beautiful transformation projects — the Yamuna Riverfront Redevelopment, where the city is writing a beautiful new chapter in its story. 🌿 From Kalindi Kunj Metro Station all the way to the rejuvenated riverbank, this area is changing rapidly — with eco-friendly walkways, cycling tracks, solar-powered lights, landscaped green zones, and peaceful viewing decks. Once a neglected floodplain, this stretch of Yamuna has now become Delhi’s newest river paradise, where nature, calmness, and urban design meet beautifully. In this vlog, we’ll explore how the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and the Government of Delhi are working together to revive over 52 km of Yamuna banks, turning them into biodiverse eco-zones, public parks, and community spaces. You’ll see a side of Delhi that’s not just developing — it’s healing. 🌊 This is more than an infrastructure project; it’s a rejuvenation movement, where the city is learning to breathe again alongside the Yamuna. Delhi is a city and a union territory of India. It is bordered by Haryana on three sides and by Uttar Pradesh to the east. The NCT covers an area of 1,484 sq km (573 sq mi). According to the 2011 census, Delhi city proper's population was over 11 million, the second-highest in India after Mumbai. Delhi's urban area is now considered to extend beyond the NCT boundary and include the neighbouring cities of Faridabad, Gurgaon, Noida and Ghaziabad in an area now called Central National Capital Region (CNCR) with an estimated 2016 population of over 26 million people, making it the world's second-largest urban area after Tokyo (Japan) according to United Nations. It is the second-wealthiest city after Mumbai in India, with a total wealth of $450 billion and home to 18 billionaires and 23,000 millionaires. Delhi has the highest per capita GDP in India with ₹3,29,000 (US$4,600) and total GDP stood at ₹6.86 lakh crore (US$96 billion). Delhi has been continuously inhabited since the 6th century BC. Through most of its history, Delhi has served as a capital of various kingdoms and empires. It has been captured, ransacked and rebuilt several times, particularly during the medieval period, and modern Delhi is a cluster of a number of cities spread across the metropolitan region.
