「512ce V-Class」は、クラシックギターで見かけることの多いシダー材をトップに、そして暖かみのある中音域に特徴があるマホガニーをサイド＆バックに採用した、500シリーズ。少し小柄なGC(グランド・コンサート)シェイプを採用、ウッディな音色が特徴です。 当店が「514ce」ではなく「512ce」を入荷している理由についてですが、それは主にテイラーでポピュラーとされるGAサイズよりも、GCサイズの方がウェストのくびれがある分、より素朴な音色で、マホガニーの中音域の鳴りが活かせていると感じたからです。ピックを使うギタリストではなく、主にフィンガーピッキングを主体とするギタリストや、ソロギターにオススメの、ちょうどいい低音域の存在感。また、単純にサイズが少し小さくなったことで、取り回しがいいのも嬉しいです。 The 512ce V-Class is part of Taylor’s 500 Series, featuring a cedar top—commonly seen on classical guitars—and mahogany back and sides, known for its warm, rich midrange. It adopts the slightly smaller GC (Grand Concert) body shape, offering a woody, intimate tone. As for why our store chose to stock the 512ce rather than the more common 514ce, it’s primarily because we feel the GC shape—with its more pronounced waist compared to the GA (Grand Auditorium) shape popular in Taylor’s lineup—brings out a more organic tone, enhancing the natural midrange warmth of the mahogany. It’s an excellent fit for fingerstyle players and solo guitarists who seek just the right amount of low-end presence without overpowering the mids.
