Templecombe S&D - the complex operations recreated on a model layout

This video shows S&DRT member Tim Chapman's model layout of Templecombe Lower, illustrating the complex operations that took place to transfer goods between the S&D at Templecombe Lower and the Upper yard on the Southern's Salisbury - Exeter line. A feature of the video is the accurately-recreated and working signals as well as working Whitaker apparatus, used for automatic tablet exchange. This was patented in 1905 by Alfred Whitaker whilst he was Locomotive Superintendent of the S&D line. Tim's layout features in the 'Great British Model Railways' bookazine due out on 3 August.
