We love celebrating Halloween as a family and we absolutely love Disney cruising. We could not think of a better way to vacation this fall! We were thrilled to sail on the first Halloween on the High Seas this year on the Wish and we hope you find this vlog series so much fun! We began day 2 bright and early with plans to take in the sunrise on deck. The ship is so peaceful in the early morning and late evening hours. We definitely recommend ship exploration at those times of day. After grabbing some coffee at Cove Cafe, we headed forward and watched the sun peek through the clouds with Castaway Cay in the distance. It was truly a great start to the day. After getting the kids up and ready we decided to dine at 1923 for breakfast. Both the Walt and Roy Disney sides were open. We were offered a selection of pastries while waiting on our meals. The kids opted for French toast while Tim had eggs Benedict and I enjoyed pancakes and an omelet. Breakfast was relaxed and we enjoyed the surrounding decor as well as our views of Castaway from the portholes throughout the dining room. While we were anxious to get off the ship and enjoy our Castaway day, we had booked the Royal Gathering and we were very ready to meet all the Princesses. The gathering is a ticketed event that is bookable before sailing and generally features four or five princesses. We were able to see Rapunzel, Tiana, Belle, Moana and Cinderella all within a few minutes. The interactions were fun and personal and we got some great photos. This is a must-do for all princess lovers! Castaway Cay is one of our favorite vacation destinations. We have enjoyed so many trips to the island and for this sailing, we were looking forward to snorkeling. The weather was perfect and the water temperature was great. We rented snorkel masks directly from Gil's for $20/each. With fins the cost is $38/each. Guests can bring their own snorkel gear. Vests are required for all in the snorkel lagoon and they are complimentary. We hope you enjoy the footage of all our discoveries. We saw so much more this trip than the last time we snorkeled since the weather was so much more cooperative. Highlights included Daisy and Boo's door! Cookies Too is our favorite dining spot on the island. The BBQ lunch offers a variety of options from cheeseburgers and hot dogs to ribs with sides like corn on the cob and potato salad. There is a selection of fresh fruits and dessert offerings as well as soft serve ice cream. We recommend the banana flavor! Back onboard the Wish, things were well underway for Pirate Night. We got our pirate gear on and headed to the Grand Hall for some character photos. The show for the evening was Little Mermaid. We recommend enjoying the show if it's your first time on the Wish. We opted for movie time instead and watched Haunted Mansion which we all enjoyed. Mickey and Minnie's Pirate's in the Caribbean stage show is always on our must-do list for Pirate Night. We love seeing all the characters in their pirate attire. The show is guaranteed to leave you wanting to "shake your booty"! An evening of entertainment and fantastic food awaited us at Arendelle. We had called ahead of our sailing and requested to be seated near the stage. Unfortunately we were nowhere near the stage and we had very limited views of the performances. We had a lovely meal and made the most of things. Bread service was delicious. We each had the tart appetizer and Brielle and I also enjoyed the asparagus. Keagan was served a massive dish of mac and cheese while the rest of us had the meatballs. We loved everything we tried and would have it all again. Dessert is the best part of any meal. The kids had the sundae while Tim and I had the applecake. I also ordered the butter cake which was so tasty. The evening festivities were not over yet. The Pirate's Rockin' Parlay Party was still to come followed by fireworks. We want to love this show, but it is our least favorite of all the ships. The band is incredible but we feel the stage show could be improved upon. We recommend finding a spot on deck 12, starboard side for best firework views. There is truly nothing like fireworks at sea!
