My sample came at the perfect smoking moisture, not too moist and not too dry. The tin note was deep and rich Latakia forward, with notes of smoke, spice, musk, and leather. The Latakia is prominent, and has been generously added. It is very smokey, with notes of wood, spice, and a musk similar to forest after it has rained. The orientals are forward as well, right behind the Latakia. They are strong with zest, sour notes, and spice. The Virginias add sweetness and a touch of grass. There seems to be a touch more Black Cavendish present than what is found in similar blends, at least to me. They add a bit of sweetness and a creamy quality to the blends. This blend is smooth, on the sweet side of this genre, with deep rich flavors being dominant. Balkan Supreme is an easy to smoke blend. It does not burn hot, keeps the pipe cool, and has no rough edge. The Virginias have a very light sharpness to them, but you really have to search to notice it and it does not impact the smoking experience. Not a strong blend, but full in flavor.
