In today’s video we’ll take a look at wave demand replenishment. Wave demand replenishment is used as a supplement to min max replenishment in the warehouse. Min max replenishment allows you to set a minimum and maximum quantity on the shelf for the item and a batch job will create replenishment work to keep the picking shelves full. Wave demand replenishment is used in between runs of the min max replenishment. When a sales order is released and there isn’t enough stock in the pick face to fulfill the order, but there is stock in the bulk or overstock areas of the warehouse wave demand replenishment will create work on the fly that will replenish the pick face so that there is enough stock to pull for the released sales order.
