Bonsai For Free - Digging Out A Birch Tree & Black Bag Technique

Bonsai does not have to be expensive. You can start with collected native trees and self seeded trees like this birch tree which was growing in a flower bed. In this video I talk through collecting and digging out a birch tree, before tidying the roots and performing a severe trunk chop. Finally the tree is enclosed in a black bag to help it to recover, and develop new buds and branches.
