Olecranon bursitis is one condition that can be causing your elbow pain. Pain is often located at the back of the elbow, around the region of the triceps tendon insertion. While it can be one cause of elbow pain, it should be noted that this may need to be treated medically, so please consult your doctor prior to doing any exercise programs. This video is for mechanical olecranon bursitis, not infective olecranon bursitis. While olecranon bursitis can feel like triceps tendinitis, some differences do exist. Namely the structures affected are different. Triceps tendinitis is an inflammatory condition that affects the triceps tendon, while olecranon bursitis affects the olecranon bursa which is a sac of fluid that improves tissue gliding. While pain may be located in the same area, the exercise program approach differs. At Rehab Hero we take a full body approach to recovery.
