How to check a Danfoss solenoid coil for defects and loose wiring | Troubleshooting instructions

This video shows you how to check the solenoid coil of a Danfoss EV-type valve for defects and loose wiring. 1. First, disconnect the power by dismounting the plug. Check to see if the valve clicks when the plug is reapplied. 2. With the plug disconnected, use a screwdriver to lever the coil from the armature. 3. Inspect the O-ring and check inside and outside the coil for chalk deposits or evidence of leakage. 4. Switch off the power to the plug and disassemble it to check the wiring and terminal connections. Mount any loose wires and reassemble. 5. Re-mount the coil, reconnect the power, and test again with the plug. Listen for a click as the valve opens or closes. If so, screw the plug in place. Safety warning: never remove a coil or disassemble a plug with voltage applied.
