Inigo Quilez - Unlocking Creativity with Signed Distance Fields - SF ACM SIGGRAPH

We’ll talk of my vision for a world post-polygon, where production of 3D content is less labor intensive and technical, and more creative than what we use today in traditional pipelines. About the Speaker Inigo learnt coding real time computer graphics and procedural content creation within the Demoscene, winning several awards. In the early 2000s he worked designing VR visualization software for CAVEs, and then joined Pixar as a Technical Artist doing procedural content, winning a VES award. Inigo then joined the Oculus as VFX Supervisor of VR short films, created the VR animation tool “Quill” and became its Product Manager. Now Inigo works at Adobe creating the next generation of design tools. In his spare time, Inigo has worked on computer graphics education, producing content for the Youtube channel called “Painting with Maths”, writing hundreds of technical articles for his website, and creating 600+ open source shaders for the Shadertoy.com platform, which he co-founder with Pol Jeremias, and for which they were awarded the ACM SIGGRAPH Practitioner Award. https://san-francisco.siggraph.org
