Hi there. We bought this engine as a replacement for our Ford tractor. The original motor blew up, so instead of buying a new block, we got the whole engine, well almost. The engine came with pretty much everything, except for the fuel filters assembly. I tried bleeding the air out of the fuel system, but unfortunately that didn't work. So the next day, I went and bought an electric fuel pump (used for cars), hooked it up on the fuel system, prime it, then sprayed on the intake and got it started. Diesel Power :) The moment when I first started the engine, I was simply so excited for that and I, to some extend, wasn't expecting it. But I'm the happiest because it did start up. However, that's why I may have gave it too much spray and didn't disengage the starter for a couple of seconds. Basically I was so focused to get it started and also there were plenty of other things I had to take care of and so, this should definitely explain the situation. This is my first ever start up I've done on a stand-alone engine. I know it's leaking, but we'll fix that down the road. This engine you see right here it's already mounted on the Ford and running. I hope you find this video useful, it can be a pain to bleed the air out of these CAV fuel pumps, but not impossible. I also hope that you like the video. Thank you so much.
