ERROR Cross Validation Rules error STEPS The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps: 1. Login to Fusion Application 2. Navigate to General Accounting Journals Create Journals 3. Enter details and click on Post Cause This issue occurs if the system is not able to generate Retained earnings account for new Balancing segment value BSV due to Cross Validation Rule. Solution System is not able to generate Retained earnings account for new Balancing segment value. BSV For example Retained Earnings account of ledger is 1001.100.10101 in which 1001 is BSV Journal is having BSV of 1000 as of 1000.200.10201 Posting job will try to create combination of 1000.100.10101 Because the Balancing segment value BSV of Retained earnings account is different from the BSV of Journal Lines. But when creating combination 1000.100.10101 it may fail due to Cross-validation Rule If the CVR is blocking the dynamic creation of retained earning's account then validate whether CVR can be disabled and Posting the journal We cannot enter Retained Earnings Account In Specify Ledger Options Solution The chart of accounts was deployed to the sandbox. Please delete the sandbox that you use. Redeploy the Chart of accounts and retest in Specify Ledger options. Make sure that you delete the sandbox, and not just exit it. Question: Does the Retained Earnings balance update not have functionality to reference that the account combination is disabled, end dated, alternate account? Scenario: GL Retained Earnings balance update in New Fiscal Year does not use alternate account GL Specify Ledger Options for Given Ledger has Retained Earnings Account Retained Earnings Account = 0001-11001-35130-0900. GL Dynamic Insertion = Not Enabled GL Account Combination 0019-11001-35130-0900 is entered and saved. , GL Account Combination 0019-11001-35130-0900 is disabled, and end dated 1/1/2000 and the alternate account 0019-11094-35130-0900 is added and saved. Transaction is created and posted: Company 0019 has $1,000 debit to an expense account in Jan-18. When GL accounting Period Jan-19 is opened, the $1,000 expense is transferred to RE account 0019 11001 35130 0900. Expected result: When GL accounting Period Jan-19 is opened, the $1,000 expense is transferred to RE account 0019 11094-35130 0900. Solution Alternate accounts defined on the Manage Account Combinations page are used specifically by Subledger Create Accounting as well as GL Journal import processes. Subledger Create Accounting Program or GL Journal Import may sometimes fail due to having to transfer data into GL on an invalid account - one that was recently disabled or end-dated. To help avoid such errors, GL provides the feature of Alternate Accounts which gives the users an opportunity to setup a replacement code combination for an invalidated one, allowing the mentioned programs to continue until successful completion. Thus, retained earnings doesn't use alternate accounts.
