Newly uncovered records and evidence are shedding additional light on the serious allegations surrounding Whitehall City Councilman Gerald Dixon, who is accused of having sexual contact with underage boys. Dixon maintains his innocence over disturbing claims that span nearly 3 decades. He is charged with felony gross sexual imposition and felony prostitution of a minor, and spent less than 24 hours in jail before he was released on his own recognizance. He continues to serve on City Council despite mounting concern from residents, police investigators, and city leaders. “I’ve never seen anything bad,” said Dixon's neighbor JoAnn Sanders, who has lived a few houses down from Dixon for decades. “I’ve talked to him a bunch of times. He stands up for Ward 1. The truth comes out in the end. If he did it, he’s going to pay for it.” A newly formed task force of five Whitehall police investigators is now working with outside agencies to review thousands of documents and evidence seized during the search of Dixon’s home. Officers collected numerous laptops and digital storage devices the night of his arrest.
