Operation Wildflower: How we took down an Albanian OCG pumping drugs into Derbyshire

This video shows the moment we took down the main players of an Albanian gang that had been pumping class A drugs into our communities. For nearly a year, the gang ran the ‘Eddie line’ drugs operation, dealing cocaine in Swadlincote, North-West Leicestershire and East Staffordshire and netting hundreds of thousands of pounds in the process. While the inner circle of the OCG – led by brothers Edmund and Edward Haziri – enjoyed lavish lifestyles off the proceeds of crime, they left a trail of addiction, crime and misery on our streets. They are now behind bars. Our action-packed video shows how we brought the gang to justice and gives viewers an exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpse of the moment the empire started to unravel. The footage is the culmination of thousands of hours of police work, in an operation led by Derbyshire detectives and funded by the National County Lines Co-ordination Centre at the Home Office. We were joined in the hunt for the gang by teams from Leicestershire Police and the Metropolitan Police Service in London, who helped execute simultaneous strikes at key locations in March last year. It was a dramatic opening to the enforcement phase of the investigation, captured on camera by officer body-worn video devices and members of Derbyshire Constabulary’s own multimedia team. Dozens of officers took part, arresting several people, searching numerous properties, and seizing bags of evidence and confiscating the proceeds of crime.
