Welcome to the another hidden culprit: the Coracobrachialis muscle. This gem attaches to the coracoid process along with the pec minor and short head of biceps. The trigger points in this muscle can refer deep to the anterior shoulder and refer down the posterior upper extremity muscles triceps, extensor and dorsum of the hand. The corcobrachialis is innervated by the musculocutaneous nerve which, in rare occasions, can become entrapped especially in those who do excessive push-ups (check out the Peripheral Nerve Entrapment masterclass for more on that). This muscle has the absolute pleasure in attaching to the coracoid process along with short head of biceps and the Pectoralis Minor, which can play all sorts of havoc to the scapula movement and position which i address in our Rotator Cuff dysfunction masterclass coming soon.
