Ladies and gentlemen, Happy Easter Sunday ! This is my review of the 4th generation, 2020-24 Novabus LFS. This is also the second generation of diesel LFS to have the blue and gold, Cuomo inspired scheme since 2018. This is the newest LFS we've had since no.8755's debut to the NYC in April 2021. These buses were ordered to replace and retire our dying Daimler Chrysler Orion 07.501 Old Generation Hybrids and Next Generation Hybrids. From the arrival of pilot unit #8755 in April 2021 to the final delivery of #9241 in March 2025, this video covers key milestones in deployment across depots like Jamaica, Queens Village, Casey Stengel, Baisley Park, JFK, and LaGuardia. These are the first 40-foot diesel LFS in history to evolve with new features like ECO 136e HVAC systems, the Ventura plug-in slidable doors, and then the inward revolving rear doors giving wider rear exits. Internally, like the newer Xcelsiors since COVID-19, these LFS also share more flip-up seats and open stroller areas. Disregarding the discomforts with the LFS rooftop A/C units, their new A/C unit is the most favorable compared to the MCC units that had been installed on other LFS since 2011-19. This new A/C unit may be featured on our newest and first full battery-powered LFS that were being sent to run in Staten Island. Speaking of Staten Island, in 2024, it was the first time that county receives newer LFS as what some thought was gonna see first. These LFS would definitely give the riders a chance to taste the most comforting rides compared to the LFS 3 years older than these.
